Indian manufacturing sector continues to evolve with domestic and foreign competition prompting the industry to adopt new technologies and techniques to lower costs and raise productivity. A fundamental challenge faced by Indian companies is hiring employees who can apply their acquired skills such as welding, painting and drilling for technical jobs. In this issue, we introduce you to some of our executive technicians.
Division’s paint shop as a paint shop technician. Ram grew up in Yevata, a small village in the Vashim District of rural Maharashtra. Due to financial constraints, he was unable to pursue higher studies and opted for an ITI course in spray painting. He initially joined Premier as a contractual labourer, and soon, through his hard work and proficiency, was appointed as an executive technician.
Pramod, an ITI-fitter in our Engineering Division, is originally from Orissa. He shifted to Pune in search for a job. After completing his ITI-fitter qualification, he pursued a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering but due to certain circumstances, could not complete the course on time. He left his resume with a few companies in Pune and received his first interview call from Premier. He joined the Company on a contractual basis and later was hired as an executive technician.
